Reset Network Settings

  1. Open the Windows search menu, type cmd, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as administrator.
  2. Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
  3. Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
  4. Type netsh int ip reset and press Enter.
  5. Restart your computer.

Notes:
  • cmd stands for Command Prompt, a text-based program in Windows used to type instructions and control your computer.
  • ipconfig /flushdns clears the temporary storage (called a cache) on your computer that remembers the IP addresses of websites you have visited
  • The netsh winsock reset command restores the Windows Winsock Catalog back to its default, clean state
  • The netsh int ip reset command resets the TCP/IP stack in Windows back to its original default settings
